Below is a few highlights of the questions we asked Rob in an exclusive interview which you can listen to above. Read to the end to find a very exciting and exclusive announcement to do with the Henderson’s Boys series. Listen to the whole interview to hear Rob singing the National Anthem, I’d better go and hide now as he’ll be hunting me down for posting that.
Can you describe your books with one word?
Why is your next series called Jet? What does this mean?
It’s not a thriller, but it is aimed at the same kind of readers that enjoy the CHERUB series. I’m actually working on it at the moment, I’ve spent most of today actually doing a detailed edit of the first book in the series. The idea is to have it published in 2014 and maybe when I do my even in Queen’s Park on May 19th I may do a reading from that book to give people an idea of what it is about.
Is the reason you wrote the CHERUB series because you secretly work for the intelligence service and they asked you to publish it as a red herring to cover up the real CHERUB?
Yes, you’re absolutely right.
What is the weirdest thing you have signed an autograph on?
Oh, er… A pineapple. I think there’s photographs of it on Facebook. A gay pineapple called Eric.
What is the most shameful song you can play on a continuous loop?
That’s What Makes You Beautiful – One Direction
Can you tell us about Henderson’s Boys 7?
Well I haven’t announced it on my website yet, but it’s called Scorched Earth. It follows the last part of the war about six months after One Shot Kill and it actually ends when the Allies liberate Paris. It tells the story of how the German occupation starts to crumble.
